The IJ-Hallen are the largest flea market in Europe and take place about once every three weeks on the outside of NDSM (spring and summer) or inside the NDSM Loods (autumn and winter). From September 3rd to 13th, the Amsterdam Fringe Festival will take over various locations across the city, including the NDSM wharf. Circoloco returns to NDSM for an unforgettable night of energy, raw sounds and club culture. With a strong line-up of international artists and a mix of house and techno, it promises to be another unforgettable experience. Circoloco's underground vibe brings the Ibiza atmosphere to the shipyard's industrial setting. Expect pulsing beats, intense moments on the dance floor, and a night where music and freedom come together.

On 19 September, the theatre production De Pionier will premiere at Amsterdam’s NDSM-werf. With De Pionier, Michiel Voet is the winner of the NDSM Open Call 2025/2026, the annual open call through which Stichting NDSM-werf and Stichting Kinetisch Noord enable art projects by artists and creatives based at the former shipyard in Amsterdam-Noord.

IN TUNE is about finding a new balance between human beings and their environment by appealing to our capacity for hearing and listening. Just as tuning a musical instrument requires extremely attentive listening and observation, we must continue to listen and, as humans, tune ourselves to our surroundings. In Tune is active from 12:00 to 17:00, with an interval of 5 minutes.

Tot het einde van dit jaar zijn op NDSM twee auto-installaties van kunstenaar Bart Eysink Smeets te zien. In deze speelse werken, die verspreid over de werf staan geparkeerd, staat de auto centraal als symbool van onze omgang met ruimte, beweging en gebruik.

Lusthoven have a rich history as places that were meant to stimulate the senses. At the same time, they increasingly became an exclusive place for the wealthy owners to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. One example is the private Lusthoven aan de Vecht, where only wealthy Amsterdammers used to go. With this contemporary NDSM Lusthof, you can Studio Ossidiana a parallel between the pleasure gardens of yesteryear and the courtyards of today's apartment complexes, which are often only accessible to owners or tenants.

Under Pressure is the winning project of the NDSM Open Call 2023 by Catarina Garcia and Jim Du Pan. The winning proposal consists of a colossal steel sphere that appears to rise above the shipyard. The base of the work is formed by Crane 7, a derelict crane that in its heyday transported pieces of steel from the warehouse to the slipways, where ships were assembled and restored. The sphere is illuminated from within and functions as a beacon of light for the surrounding area, also visible from the water. The frame of the sphere is wrapped in plants that change with the seasons.

The two winning projects of the NDSM Open Call 2024, now presented in 2025 – Look Up by Renée Marcus Janssen and Shells by Lyangelo Vasquez – will be on view in the NDSM Loods from 12 September. Through the annual NDSM Open Call, Stichting NDSM-werf and Stichting Kinetisch Noord make it possible for artists and creatives based at the former shipyard in Amsterdam-Noord to realise new artistic projects.
