Circoloco returns to NDSM for an unforgettable night of energy, raw sounds and club culture. On 19 September 2026, A Percussion Piece will take place at NDSM: a large-scale participatory performance by media artist Maxim Tyminko, organised by antiwarcoalition.art. They want to gather 1,200 participants to draw attention to the hundreds of political prisoners who have remained imprisoned in Belarus since the 2020 elections, while also reflecting on the fragility of freedom.

The IJ-hallen is Europe's largest flea market, held approximately every three weeks on the outdoor grounds of the NDSM wharf (spring and summer) or inside the NDSM LOODS (autumn and winter). On 19 September, the theatre production De Pionier will premiere at Amsterdam’s NDSM-werf. With De Pionier, Michiel Voet is the winner of the NDSM Open Call 2025/2026, the annual open call through which Stichting NDSM-werf and Stichting Kinetisch Noord enable art projects by artists and creatives based at the former shipyard in Amsterdam-Noord.

What makes your inner spark burn bright? It is with this question that artist Isa van Lier enters into conversation with pupils aged 10–12 at Basisschool De Baanbreker, located next to NDSM. These conversations form the starting point for a collaborative art project that will culminate in 2027 in the construction of a lighthouse-shaped sculpture at NDSM.

From May 14, Wish Me Well will be on display at NDSM. This temporary, seven-metre-high monument by artist Lara Schnitger rises in a prominent spot at the ferry landing. The sculpture depicts a warrior who embraces and defends feminist values, and acts as a powerful beacon for emancipation in the public space. The official opening will take place on May 13.

From April 24, the NDSM Giants will be on display at NDSM. Three eight-metre-high concrete sculptures designed by Gabriel Lester (PolyLester) are rising on the site. The giant basketball players, caught in movement, show from varying perspectives an exciting game between stillness and dynamism, between figuration and abstraction.

The text work created for NDSM by artist Lily van der Stokker is a soft and critical counterbalance to the raw character of the former shipyard, dominated by male creators.
