NORTH SIDE STORY by YoungGangers is a modern, musical reinterpretation of Romeo and Juliet at the NDSM-werf in Amsterdam-noord this summer. This outdoor spectacle is inspired by Shakespeare and West Side Story. The action musical, written by Jibbe Willems, is a mix of poetry, humor, sung confrontation, raw spectacle and slapstick.

At the NDSM Children's Workshop, imagination takes center stage. Children design and create their own unique pieces using a wide variety of recycled materials from the artists' studios on the wharf. Guided by these artists, who believe that every child is creative and can be encouraged to bring their ideas to life, children work from concept to creation. This edition: we'll be making Floating Messages!

Come splash and play! Water playground at NDSM, for all ages. Does it float or sink? Play with water and sand, discover and experiment for yourself! Build your own creations with pipes, gutters, taps, and sprinklers. Together with your family or with other children. On Wednesday, July 8th, Thursday, July 9th, and Friday, July 10th, at the basketball court on the NDSM grounds. No registration is required, and admission is free!

This summer, Stichting NDSM-werf presents New Dawn by Howareyoufeeling.studio: a public installation of 108 red monobloc chairs inviting visitors to take a seat, pause, and become part of a shared ritual of attention, stillness and encounter. New Dawn was developed by the Mumbai-based artist couple Doyel Joshi and Neil Ghose Balser of Howareyoufeeling.studio. Within the Indian context, the circle of 108 red monobloc chairs symbolises wholeness and connectedness, while also serving as an announcement of a new day.

The third and largest edition of Queer Market Amsterdam outside on the NDSM square next to Pllek! After two successful editions, they are now going all out with more than 50 queer entrepreneurs who will surprise you with vintage, art, handmade products, sustainable gifts, music, workshops, and of course, food & drinks. Queer Market XXL: Browsing and shopping at NDSM Enjoy vintage items, art, handmade products, and sustainable gifts. The program is complemented by live DJs, music, creative workshops, and a varied food and drink selection.

From May 14, Wish Me Well will be on display at NDSM. This temporary, seven-metre-high monument by artist Lara Schnitger rises in a prominent spot at the ferry landing. The sculpture depicts a warrior who embraces and defends feminist values, and acts as a powerful beacon for emancipation in the public space. The official opening will take place on May 13.

From April 24, the NDSM Giants will be on display at NDSM. Three eight-metre-high concrete sculptures designed by Gabriel Lester (PolyLester) are rising on the site. The giant basketball players, caught in movement, show from varying perspectives an exciting game between stillness and dynamism, between figuration and abstraction.

For the annual DGTL Festival at NDSM, Stichting NDSM-werf and DGTL jointly commissioned a new painting on the iconic container arch.

Tot het einde van dit jaar zijn op NDSM twee auto-installaties van kunstenaar Bart Eysink Smeets te zien. In deze speelse werken, die verspreid over de werf staan geparkeerd, staat de auto centraal als symbool van onze omgang met ruimte, beweging en gebruik.

The text work created for NDSM by artist Lily van der Stokker is a soft and critical counterbalance to the raw character of the former shipyard, dominated by male creators.
