ASTRONAUTS & ROCKSTARS

Maarten de Loor is an Amsterdam-based illustrator and storyteller with a minimalist style. One of his projects is Astronauts & Rockstars. This exhibition features a small selection of the first original illustrations and sketches from the project, marking the beginning of endless stories and adventures with the little mice of Astronauts & Rockstars!
NDSM THEATER CLASSES

Starting in September, Kindertoneel Westerpark will once again be offering weekly theater classes at the NDSM wharf for children aged 4 to 12. In small groups, children will playfully develop their creativity, imagination, and self-confidence through theater and movement. Additionally, special summer workshops will be held at NDSM this summer, from August 10th to 12th.

JAM SESSION: MAKAN DISKO

Makan Disko is back with a special Summer Jam Session at Treehouse NDSM. Nevera Soundsystem and TitsOut4Snacks are joining forces to make music, listen, and eat together, featuring delicious vegetarian bites by TitsOut4Snacks. Bring an open heart, an empty stomach, and your instrument if you'd like—or simply come by to enjoy the music, the sun, and the creative atmosphere at Treehouse NDSM.
Bob Ross is back!

Following last year’s success, PEXPO and TRIPLE C are bringing Bob Ross back to NDSM for a relaxed outdoor painting workshop. On Saturday 22 August, 50 participants will create their own landscape painting with guidance from an official Bob Ross instructor, with all materials provided. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced painters and all ages; two sessions are available.

Stichting NDSM-werf organises special Art Tours. During this guided walk, you'll learn more about the temporary artworks, the artists behind them, and why these works belong at NDSM. This edition of the Art Tour will be led by artist and guide Su Tomesen, together with special guest Lily van der Stokker.
De Pionier | Michiel Voet

On 19 September, the theatre production De Pionier will premiere at Amsterdam’s NDSM-werf. With De Pionier, Michiel Voet is the winner of the NDSM Open Call 2025/2026, the annual open call through which Stichting NDSM-werf and Stichting Kinetisch Noord enable art projects by artists and creatives based at the former shipyard in Amsterdam-Noord.

Opening: The Argonauts | Ivan Morison

Stichting NDSM-werf presents The Argonauts at NDSM, a new public artwork by British artist Ivan Morison: a group of three monumental sculptures that introduce strange embodied forms into the post-industrial landscape of NDSM. The opening is on 24 September and everybody is welcome!

Ambacht in Beeld Festival

Tijdens het Ambacht in Beeld Festival verandert de NDSM Loods in Amsterdam in een grote ambachtelijke werkplaats. Meer dan honderd meester-ambachtslieden uit binnen- en buitenland geven workshops, masterclasses, demonstraties en lezingen in disciplines variërend van houtdraaien en koperslaan tot kintsugi en batik. Het festival biedt jong en oud de kans om ambachten te ontdekken, zelf te ervaren en nieuwe vaardigheden op te doen, met speciale activiteiten voor kinderen.

New Dawn
Wish Me Well

From May 14, Wish Me Well will be on display at NDSM. This temporary, seven-metre-high monument by artist Lara Schnitger rises in a prominent spot at the ferry landing. The sculpture depicts a warrior who embraces and defends feminist values, and acts as a powerful beacon for emancipation in the public space. The official opening will take place on May 13.
NDSM Giants & 3x3 legacy courts

From April 24, the NDSM Giants will be on display at NDSM. Three eight-metre-high concrete sculptures designed by Gabriel Lester (PolyLester) are rising on the site. The giant basketball players, caught in movement, show from varying perspectives an exciting game between stillness and dynamism, between figuration and abstraction.
