Join us at NDSM on 30 September at 12.30 pm for a celebratory ritual, as the clay fires created by pupils and visitors are lifted from the pit. Born from conversations and workshops about what gives us energy and keeps our inner fire burning, these small sculptures come together as a tribute to creativity, imagination and making together. Everyone is welcome!

Amsterdam in Bricks opent op de NDSM! Ontdek zeven kleine bouwsets van herkenbare Amsterdamse iconen, ontworpen en gemaakt op de werf. De setjes zijn verkrijgbaar uit een vendingmachine in een voormalig rookhok bij de Blokloods. Tijdens de openingsdagen kun je ook zelf bouwen, raden hoeveel LEGO-steentjes er in de pot zitten en een setje Amsterdam mee naar huis nemen. Bij de eerste 100 aankopen is er een speciale minifig cadeau. Iedereen is welkom.

During NDSM OPEN, you will meet a diverse group of artists and other creative minds. In addition to the studios and workshops opening to the public on October 3rd, there are plenty of activities for visitors to enjoy. At NDSM OPEN, you will discover art, craftsmanship, design, architecture, fashion, music, installations, performances, and workshops.

Stichting NDSM-werf is organising a special Art Tour. During this walking tour, you’ll learn more about the temporary artworks, the artists behind them, and why they fit so well at NDSM. The Art Tour will be led by artist and guide Su Tomesen, with special guest Henk Schut.

At the NDSM Kinderatelier, imagination takes centre stage. Children come up with and create their own designs using a wide range of leftover materials from the artists’ studios on the shipyard.

Starting September 25, Stichting NDSM-werf presents The Argonauts at NDSM, a new public artwork by British artist Ivan Morison: a group of three monumental sculptures that introduce strange embodied forms into the post-industrial landscape of NDSM.

What makes your inner spark burn bright? It is with this question that artist Isa van Lier enters into conversation with pupils aged 10–12 at Basisschool De Baanbreker, located next to NDSM. These conversations form the starting point for a collaborative art project that will culminate in 2027 in the construction of a lighthouse-shaped sculpture at NDSM.

From April 24, the NDSM Giants will be on display at NDSM. Three eight-metre-high concrete sculptures designed by Gabriel Lester (PolyLester) are rising on the site. The giant basketball players, caught in movement, show from varying perspectives an exciting game between stillness and dynamism, between figuration and abstraction.

The text work created for NDSM by artist Lily van der Stokker is a soft and critical counterbalance to the raw character of the former shipyard, dominated by male creators.

IN TUNE is about finding a new balance between human beings and their environment by appealing to our capacity for hearing and listening. Just as tuning a musical instrument requires extremely attentive listening and observation, we must continue to listen and, as humans, tune ourselves to our surroundings. In Tune is active from 12:00 to 17:00, with an interval of 5 minutes.
