Stichting NDSM-werf organises special Art Tours throughout the year. During these guided walks, you will learn more about the temporary artworks on the wharf, the artists behind them, and why their work belongs at NDSM. The tours are usually led by artist Su Tomesen together with a special guest. The next Art Tour takes place on 2 August, with Su Tomesen as guide and special guest Maryam Kalami, caretaker of NDSM Lusthof garden. Further Art Tours will take place on 23 August and 3 October. Walk with us through NDSM and discover NDSM Lusthof and beyond
During this NDSM Art Tour, gardener Maryam Kalami will guide you through NDSM Lusthof, a unique garden where nature, care and community come together. What began as an art project has grown into a shared community space, hosting tea ceremonies, guided tours and a dedicated group of local volunteers who help maintain the garden.
Along the way, you will learn more about the vision behind the garden, its predominantly native planting scheme, and the role NDSM Lusthof plays as a place for rest, connection and reflection on the relationship between people and nature. Afterwards, artist Su Tomesen will take you on a tour of the other artworks across the NDSM Wharf.
About Maryam Kalami
Maryam Kalami is the gardener and one of the key caretakers of NDSM Lusthof. Through her passion for plants, care and community building, she leads activities in the garden and shares her knowledge of its plants, history and the importance of caring for both people and nature.
