We Make the NDSM Wharf Together

The NDSM Wharf is a freely accessible space in Amsterdam North, where art, culture, and creativity come together in the public domain. Here, you’ll find large-scale artworks, unique projects, and encounters between makers, residents, and visitors. Do you want to be part of this? Enjoy meeting new people, artists, and art enthusiasts? And like helping visitors have a great experience on the wharf? Become a volunteer!

As a volunteer, you are an important link between art and the public. With your contribution, we make the wharf even more welcoming and accessible to a wide audience. Together, we create a place where everyone feels at home.

Choose Your Role
At the NDSM Wharf, there are different ways to get involved. You can join the Public & Information Team, welcoming visitors, helping them navigate the site, and assisting at the kiosk or during events and public moments. You’ll be a point of contact and contribute to a friendly atmosphere on the wharf.

Or, if you prefer working outdoors and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, join the Green & Maintenance Team. Together, you’ll help keep the wharf green, well-maintained, and attractive through gardening, maintenance, and small improvements. As a volunteer, you choose a role that fits your interests and availability.

As a volunteer, you become part of the Stichting NDSM-werf team. You will be carefully introduced and supported, and where needed, we offer training, for example in public guidance. We involve you in everything happening at the wharf: you’ll receive invitations to openings and activities, gain access to events you help with, and meet other volunteers, makers, and visitors. Of course, appreciation is part of it too. Think of an annual volunteer afternoon, opportunities to connect and deepen relationships, and visible recognition such as special NDSM merchandise.
