The Art City in the shipbuilding shed at NDSM is perhaps one of the most remarkable creative hubs in the world.

Since the late 1990s, artists and creatives have dreamed of establishing an art city in the NDSM Loods—a place where they could build their own workspaces within a city and have the freedom to develop new creations. The Art City has long moved beyond its pioneering phase and is now a permanent fixture at NDSM. Together with the studio spaces under the former shipbuilding slopes and Treehouse NDSM, it has created a dense network of maker spaces, studios, and workshops at NDSM, spanning music, theatre, visual arts, photography, design, and architecture.
