NDSM YOUNG CURATOR 2026: MARLENE DEUTINGER

Stichting NDSM-werf is proud to announce Marlene Deutinger as its Young Curator 2026. Marlene will develop a public intervention for Museumnacht on Saturday 7 November 2026. The project will take as its starting point The Argonauts, an installation by British artist Ivan Morison, which will be on view at NDSM from 25 September.

Through this programme, Stichting NDSM-werf offers emerging curators and artists the opportunity to gain experience in developing projects for the public realm. The selection committee consisted of Petra Heck, Bram Kroon and Batseba Tapilawatim (Stichting NDSM-werf). We look forward to working with Marlene and to presenting her intervention during Museumnacht Amsterdam 2026.

Marlene Deutinger
Marlene Deutinger (*2001) is an independent curator and cultural anthropologist. She is interested in how place and context shape both the form and the perception of artistic practice. Through self-initiated projects, including those in the public realm, she explores the possibilities and boundaries of art at the intersection of architecture and landscape. She recently completed the MA Curating Art and Cultures at the University of Amsterdam, having previously earned a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Graz (Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz).

Her recent projects include the one-day exhibition Blacktop Sculpture Garden, organised with Christopher Clarkson and Sem Verwey on a disused parking lot in Rotterdam; the eighth edition of the art and architecture biennial minus20degree in Flachau, Austria; and the group exhibition Vergeet niet in te checken! (Don't Forget to Check In!), commissioned by CBK Rotterdam.
