Stichting NDSM-werf organises special Art Tours. During this guided walk, you'll learn more about the temporary artworks, the artists behind them, and why these works belong at NDSM. This edition of the Art Tour will be led by artist and guide Su Tomesen, together with special guest Lily van der Stokker.
Join us for a walk around NDSM and discover Schattige babyvoetjes and more.
During this NDSM Kunst Toer, Lily van der Stokker will introduce her artwork Schattige babyvoetjes, a light green text installation on the head of the industrial Y-slipway. The work connects the history of the former shipyard with themes of parenthood, domestic life and gender. Using words drawn from the language of parenthood, Van der Stokker brings the personal and everyday into the public realm, inviting visitors to experience the wharf from a fresh perspective.
During the tour, you'll learn more about the creation of the artwork, its significance within the context of NDSM, and the role of feminine and domestic themes in public space. Afterwards, Su Tomesen will guide you past the other artworks across the wharf, sharing stories about the artists, their works and their connection to this unique location.

Lily van der Stokker (1954) is known for her monumental, colourful murals and drawings, which centre on everyday themes such as domestic life, kindness and ageing. For more than thirty years, her vibrant colours and seemingly light-hearted texts have challenged traditional ideas about art and aesthetics.
