As part of Wish Me Well, Stichting NDSM-werf invites you to a special workshop with designer and artist Bas Kosters. During this afternoon, you'll create your own miniature tapestry to wear as a patch on your clothing – a personal statement that, like the feminist flags in Lara Schnitger's installation, carries a message.
Both Lara Schnitger and Bas Kosters use textiles as a powerful medium to address social issues. Their work demonstrates how art can spark conversation, foster connection, and inspire change. Drawing on this shared approach, you'll design and create a wearable artwork that gives form to your own voice.
The afternoon begins with a guided visit to Wish Me Well, where curator Petra Heck will tell you the ins and outs of the installation and the stories that underpin it. Afterwards, we'll walk to Bas Kosters' studio, where, under his guidance, you'll create your own textile statement.
