Van klassieke ambachten tot innovatieve technieken en duurzame materialen: deze tentoonstelling laat zien hoe textiel actuele thema’s als klimaatverandering, migratie en hergebruik tastbaar maakt. Een krachtige verkenning van textiel als expressief en maatschappelijk medium.

Nature is greater than us is een experimenteel kunstonderzoek van Treehouse-resident Bruna Souza. Geïnspireerd door de impact van natuurrampen, klimaatverandering en menselijke invloed, onderzoekt zij persoonlijke verhalen van mensen die recent zijn getroffen door milieucatastrofes. De tentoonstelling ontwikkelt zich de komende maanden in de pop-up ruimte van Treehouse NDSM en nodigt bezoekers en kunstenaars uit om actief betrokken te raken bij het groeiende multimediaproject.

The May edition of Live at Our Place brings an evening of musical diversity with Otis August, Joshua Lewis and MOOD. Otis August presents his self-produced mix of hip-hop, (neo) soul, pop and indie electronics, combining personal stories and layered instrumentals. Joshua Lewis takes you into a dynamic set with his own productions and inspiring tracks. MOOD ends the evening with an energetic live set full of electronic, funk and house influences, which flows into UKG and tech house. An immersive musical experience that focuses on self-expression and dance.

Ruige Rakkers is the Sunday activity at the NDSM for everyone between 4 and 12 years old. Every week between 13:00 and 16:00 you can walk in freely and participate in various programs. Admission is free!

De Goblin Market is een bruisende markt voor queer makers. Je vindt hier mode, zines, kunstprints, sieraden, nagelart, tarotlezingen, vegan eten en nog veel meer. Van queers, voor iedereen! Op de markt vind je ook de Free Little Rainbow Library – een gratis buurtbibliotheek met boeken van queer auteurs en verhalen met LGBTQ+-personages. De bibliotheek viert queer literatuur, stimuleert lokaal boekdelen en biedt toegankelijke middelen om meer te leren over LGBTQ+-ervaringen. Kom langs om een boek te lenen, terug te brengen of zelf een boek te doneren!

Derdejaarsstudenten van de Immersive Media opleiding aan de Nederlandse Filmacademie presenteren The Onion Effect—een meeslepende tentoonstelling waarin emoties laag voor laag worden afgepeld. De studenten verkennen nieuwe vormen van storytelling met analoge en digitale media. Hun werk is persoonlijk, onderzoekend en emotioneel geladen: elke laag onthult iets nieuws. Kom ervaren hoe technologie, kunst en gevoel samenkomen in deze bijzondere presentatie op NDSM.

Op zoek naar een gezellige kunstactiviteit voor je dreumes of peuter? Na de meivakantie organiseert Museumboefjes twee losse workshops – zonder verdere verplichtingen! Museumboefjes is een initiatief van kunsthistorica en educator Sara Backer. Met interactieve kunstkastjes en creatieve workshops maakt zij kunst toegankelijk voor de allerkleinsten – binnen én buiten het museum.

In 2025 krijgen urban topsporters in Amsterdam opnieuw een passend stedelijk podium om hun skills te laten zien. Fans kunnen de beste atleten in actie zien, terwijl amateurdeelnemers de unieke kans krijgen om hun kunsten voor een groot publiek te tonen. Van 16 tot 18 mei worden verschillende evenementen georganiseerd in Amsterdam, waarbij alle urban sporten aan bod komen.

We verwelkomen een spectaculair sportevenement op onze werf: de FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters 2025 én de Women's Series Amsterdam 2025 komen naar NDSM! Vier sessies, verspreid over drie dagen, vol topsport, snelheid en urban energy – allemaal op onze iconische industriële locatie. Kom kijken naar de beste 3x3 basketballers ter wereld en beleef het rauwe randje van de sport, midden op de werf.

Op 20 mei komt Panagiotis Gourdoupis samen met saxofonist Marios Charalampous naar Treehouse NDSM voor een avond waarin Griekse volksmuziek en jazz elkaar ontmoeten. Greek Folk Meets Jazz is een performance die het publiek meeneemt op een reis door soundscapes geïnspireerd door jazz, klassieke muziek en Griekse folktradities. De muziek balanceert tussen melancholie en vreugde, met een rijke, nostalgische en tegelijkertijd opbeurende toon. Mis deze bijzondere muzikale ervaring niet en geniet van de betoverende composities van Panagiotis Gourdoupis en Marios Charalampous!

Van 22 mei tot en met 15 juni presenteert Treehouse NDSM de groepstentoonstelling Sensory Dialogues: Attuning our Bodies, de tweede in een reeks tentoonstellingen waarin zintuiglijke ervaring centraal staat. Elf internationale kunstenaars nodigen bezoekers uit om luisteren te ervaren als een fysieke, aandachtige praktijk van verbondenheid met de wereld om ons heen. Welke relaties ontstaan er via geluid? Hoe kunnen trillingen en resonanties de grenzen tussen lichamen, tijden en ruimtes doen vervagen?

Treehouse opent zijn deuren op 24 mei voor een Open Studio tijdens Amsterdam Art Week. Kom op ontdekkingstocht en ontmoet een aantal fantastische kunstenaars van over de hele wereld.

Op 27 mei vertonen we de documentaire Holy Shit, onderdeel van het filmfestival georganiseerd door De Groene Stelling en Pakhuis de Zwijger. Dit festival brengt mensen in en rond de stad samen via verhalen over voedsel, landschap en landbouw. Holy Shit verdiept zich in de voedselkringloop en onderzoekt zowel de mogelijkheden als de taboes rond het sluiten van deze menselijke kringloop. Tijdens het evenement komen bewoners, boeren, activisten en beleidsmakers samen om het gesprek aan te gaan, bewustwording te creëren over duurzaamheid en stil te staan bij de impact van ons voedselsysteem op het landschap.

Op 28 mei presenteert Live at Our Place een avond waarin Mexicaanse folklore, vrije improvisatie, soulvolle grooves en experimentele beats samenkomen. Vier unieke acts brengen verhalen, samenwerking en muzikale nieuwsgierigheid naar het podium.

In 2025 viert PIV haar 10-jarig bestaan, en dat wordt groots gevierd—wereldwijd en ook bij ons. Verwacht een speciaal 10-year festival bij Noorderlicht, exclusieve merchandise en een unieke sampler. Van Amsterdam tot Ibiza, van Miami tot Bali—PIV 10 YEARS wordt een wereldwijd feest. Mis het niet!

Nevera Soundsystem en TitsOut4Snacks komen opnieuw samen voor een sessie vol eten, muziek en gezelligheid bij Treehouse NDSM. Iedereen is welkom om mee te spelen, te jammen en de ruimte te gebruiken om nieuwe klanken te ontdekken. Muziekliefhebbers die liever luisteren zijn natuurlijk ook van harte uitgenodigd – mét een hapje erbij! Op 13 juni keert Live at Our Place terug met een avond vol sonische verkenning en experimentele performances. De Amsterdamse duo lur/ mort opent de avond met een elektro-akoestische set waarin saxofoon, bekkens en live-elektronica samensmelten tot meeslepende machine-mens-klanklandschappen. Daarna betreedt Chameleon Moves het podium: een trio dat vrije improvisatie, spoken word en scherpe dynamische wendingen samenbrengt in een optreden zo gelaagd en beweeglijk als hun naam doet vermoeden.

Tropikali Festival is a queer festival in Amsterdam that celebrates diversity, self-expression, and inclusivity. This year, it will be a two-day event at the iconic NDSM Wharf. The festival features multiple stages with a diverse lineup, from Latin house and reggaeton to techno and Balkan- and Arabic electronic music. Tropikali is the place to enjoy a unique mix of culture, music, and a vibrant community, where everyone can be themselves and freedom of expression is at the heart. Art in Action brengt mensen samen via interactieve kunst en workshops voor jong en oud. Van schilderen tot samen muziek maken: creativiteit staat centraal. Op 12 juli presenteert Live at Our Place een genre-overstijgende avond met moderne jazz, hip-hop en experimentele pop. Max Sergeant opent de avond met een set van gospel-gekleurde jazzcomposities, geschreven in de afgelopen vier jaar, en brengt deze tot leven met een expressieve, eigentijdse flair. Hessel Du Mark volgt met een krachtige hip-hop performance, vol rauwe emotie en scherpe woordspelingen. Als afsluiter speelt Hessel Du Mark samen met Oskar Billy een back-to-back set, waarin experimentele pop, rap en onuitgebrachte tracks samenkomen in een electrifying finale.

What does hope look like in a world full of fractures? The group exhibition RE:FWD: A Reply to the Present, A Forward to Us All brings together the future visions of 22 young artists, starting February 7th at Kunstlinie (and from July 18th at NDSM FUSE). Through installations, soundscapes, paintings, textile art, and sculptures, they explore hope – critically, speculatively, and multilayered. Under the motto ‘without awareness, no foundation can form, and no one can live in a castle in the air,’ they delve into grief, resilience, and possibilities. Visitors are invited to see hope not as an abstraction but as an active process – and to contribute to it.
