STICHTING NDSM-WERF

The NDSM-werf Foundation is the programmer, curator and manager of the outdoor area. She connects, encourages development, adds and challenges. She questions, unlocks and promotes. She has an independent role in her own programming, but also fulfills a role commissioned by the municipality in management and direction, and acts as a connector. The NDSM-werf Foundation monitors and maintains the NDSM brand. She is the sometimes visible, sometimes invisible engine of NDSM. She brings unity to the multitude and gives a clear face to the area.
Mission
The NDSM-werf Foundation is committed to the development and maintenance of NDSM as a free and programmable cultural site, a place of experimentation for initiatives that contribute to urban quality of life and meaningful public space. This is what the foundation does for the city, with the city and its visitors. Here, history, physical space, and the expressive heritage with its characteristic ruggedness and pioneering spirit are an explicit starting point.
Vision
The NDSM-werf Foundation believes in the power of creative makers and artists to sketch new perspectives and uses them to give meaning to the roles and functions that NDSM Cultuurwerf fulfills in the city of today and in the future. The foundation calls for shared ownership and shared responsibility for public space and encourages initiatives that actively involve the city, its residents, cultural parties and creative entrepreneurs. In addition, the starting point is that when you come to get something at NDSM, you must also be willing to bring something and invest in the future of the place. The foundation promotes a rich diversity of users and entrepreneurship and strives to balance the various (partial) interests. In this way, all parties jointly contribute to a meaningful NDSM Cultuurwerf.

NDSM - THIS IS THE PLACE AND THE PLACE IS EVERYTHING
The NDSM area in Amsterdam North has been around for over a hundred years. From industry to historic shipbuilding colossus. From an industrial construction site to an incubator for pioneering art. Over the past decades, countless creators, artists, cultural institutions, programming restaurants, new museum concepts and appealing initiatives for festival and cultural events have settled here.
The extensive outdoor area offers space for wonder, connection and experimentation. As a free space for art and culture, but also as a space to wander around for residents of the surrounding neighborhoods and the many visitors from home and abroad. Together, they make NDSM an inseparable whole: the city's cultural incubator, and the bustling heart of old, new and future urban neighborhoods.
PARTNERS
As a programmer, director and facilitator, the NDSM-werf Foundation is committed to collaborating and coordinating with cultural parties at NDSM. The foundation is the central hub in setting up both sitewide and specific cooperation programs. Stichting Kinetisch Noord (NDSM Loods), New Dakota, STRAAT, NDSM-fuse (in the NDSM-warehouse), Over het IJ and the Treehouse breeding ground are the direct cultural partners at NDSM with regular consultation and coordination. Support from funds and partners is essential for the NDSM-werf Foundation. Thanks to this support, we can continue to build on the cultural programming at NDSM and the future of the NDSM Cultuurwerf.
