Vrijhaven has been Amsterdam's largest child-free market for years! This free event is especially for everyone who wants to experience an old-fashioned King's Day full of fun and fun. On this page you cal read all about the different programming during the Vrijhaven festival at NDSM

Children flea market
Has your toy cabinet been bulging for weeks or are you just looking for some new additions? Then come to the children's market at NDSM Vrijhaven, the perfect place to spend your King's Day without being bored for a moment and maybe also earn some extra cash by selling your toys at a stall! Reserve your spot via the button at the top of this page (the IJ-Hallen website).

Live music

Do you love the finest live tunes in your ears? And could your feet use some dance moves this King's Day? Then NDSM Vrijhaven is the place to be. There are several stages set up throughout the NDSM wharf during Vrijhaven, where various live music performances are held. For example, visit IJver and choose a matching beer right away, or come dance on the beach at Pllek with a view over the IJ. Also, at Café Noorderlicht and the ADM stage you can listen to various tunes this year, and the DJs at the NDSM Café guarantee fine beats.

Entertainment

NDSM Vrijhaven promises a day full of old-fashioned King's Day entertainment. There are various attractions made by the Karnival, a carousel for the little ones, and if you are very skillful, a wipeout course.

Fons (known from the Royal Suite in previous years) is back at Vrijhaven this year with something very special: he's bringing the sacred cow that can predict your future!

This year, you can once again show off your moves at the renowned NK Chair Dance Disco! Organized by NDSM residents, including a jury verdict and trophies up for grabs. Additionally, throughout the day, you can enjoy Capoeira performances on the premises.

At Treehouse NDSM, you can participate in traditional King's Day games this year during Vrijhaven, such as potato sack races and tin can throwing, as well as workshops, clay modeling, and painting. Right next to Treehouse, you'll find essential tips and tricks from the 3X3 Unites community to take your basketball game to a new level on the brand new 3x3 court at NDSM!

Food and drinks

Hungry? Or fancy a (refreshing) drink? Visit one of the bars and/or food trucks for a tasty snack and drink while taking a break with your face in the sun! From sandwiches to Dutch mini pancakes, and from Surinamese to Indonesian and everything in between, there's something delicious for everyone at NDSM Vrijhaven. Including vegetarian and vegan options.
