EXHIBITION BY BEAUTIFUL DISTRESS HOUSE
Beautiful Distress opens a group exhibition with three artists from mental health care about how hope, meaning and resilience come together in art. Together with artists by experience, Matthijs Rem, Jacob Kleyn and Irene Bruns, we investigate how art can offer hope and meaning. The ‘Delusional-meaning’ exhibition highlights the resilience within mental health care. We want to enter into a conversation with everyone who recognizes themselves in this dance between sense and madness, between strength and vulnerability.
ABOUT BEAUTIFUL DISTRESS
Beautiful Distress’s mission is to use art to make psychological vulnerabilities visible, palpable and therefore open to discussion. Following the Amsterdam Week of Mental Health, Beautiful Distress is renewing the connection between art and care in collaboration with various health care institutions in order to further propagate our mission. How does art play a role in mental health care and among people who depend on this care?
