ART PROGRAMMING BY STICHTING NDSM-WERF IN COLLABORATION WITH REFRESH AMSTERDAM
It seems like this car landed with a considerable crash. Migration is the subject of the installation Landed Rock by designer and visual artist Clinton Kabena. In 2022, more than 100 million people worldwide were fleeing war and violence. Usually, they must settle in surroundings far from home that are unfamiliar and new. Kabena is fascinated by this “crash” into a different culture.

The installation is part of Refresh Amsterdam #2: War & Conflict. The second part of this installation (another car installation) can be seen in the Amsterdam Museum. This work is also the first part of the exhibition (Un)monumenting that can be seen from December 17 at the NDSM Wharf and in the NDSM Loods.
