STREET ART MUSEUM AT NDSM
STRAAT is the museum for street art and graffiti. In the current exhibition, you will become acquainted with more than 160 works by 150+ artists, the works of art were made in and especially for the museum. In the STRAAT Gallery, you can view an ever-changing exhibition. Works by street artist and activist Shepard Fairey (known for the world-famous ‘Hope’ poster for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in 2008) are currently on display. STRAAT is housed in the former 8000 m2 welding shed on the NDSM wharf. This is where the parts for the ships that were built at the former shipyardyard used to be welded together. The building is both a national monument and the largest street art and graffiti playground in Amsterdam.
