Een negatieve ruimte | Lucas Lenglet

From 16 September to 7 October, artist Lucas Lenglet and architectural critic Arjen Oosterman present the results of their research Een negatieve ruimte or A negative space in Nieuw Dakota.

With photographic portraits of prison walls, Lenglet examines the concepts of in- and exclusion and seeks rapprochement to places that are essentially inaccessible. These walls are intended to encapsulate an area, and thus a part of society, and to hide it out of sight. With photographs, sketches, scale models and a publication Lenglet looks for ways to show¬† what happens behind the prison wall and how it’s experienced from the outside.
