MACA X TIMESPACE
PROGRAM BY MACA (MOVING ARTS CENTRE AMSTERDAM)
On display on November 26 and 27 at the brand new MACA – Moving Arts Centre Amsterdam at NDSM: TimeSpace – an audiovisual total artwork. TimeSpace is an audiovisual art experience that takes you through a 40-minute performance of visual 3D sculptures, sound art and dance. The work was created through a collaboration between audiovisual artist Frouke ten Velden, composer Nicholas Thayer, choreographer Peter Leung and dancer Toon Lobach.
TimeSpace: about distance and intimacy
The past year has shown us what it means to maintain distance and be with each other. Timespace explores the laws that govern distance and proximity, and how conscious we are of this, both as makers and performers and for audiences. From a new perspective on the Gesamtkunstwerk, the four artists explore the idea of intimacy and distance in MACA’s large project space.
MACA: a new incubator for audiovisual artists and filmmakers
MACA- Moving Arts Centre Amsterdam is a new place for visual creators, where they will experiment, work and exhibit. Work is underway on shared workspaces, studios, and event spaces in a converted warehouse at NDSM on the banks of the IJ river, where all kinds of things related to film and audiovisual art will soon be on display. With its own programming that gives visitors a unique look behind the scenes of filmmaking and a talent development program, MACA will soon function as the driving force of the Dutch film and AV sector. The official opening is in 2022, until then visitors will get a sneak preview of MACA with events like TimeSpace.
