ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
In the exhibition There is no Better Me, Nina Glockner and Sachi Miyachi bring together Japanese memorabilia, cultural artifacts, personal anecdotes and architectural fragments from their artist-in-residence period at Fukuroda Psychiatric Hospital in 2019. The title not only functions as a ‘ note to self’, but also as a provocation, problematizing our imperative to self-improvement and pathologizing the ways in which behaviors that refuse to comply are pathologised. At the same time, There is no Better Me acts as a reminder to ground yourself in the present rather than clinging to a nostalgic past or an idealized future.

Beautifull Distress house is opened on Friday’s and Thursday’s from 11:00 untill 18:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 untill 18:00.
